New Computer for the School:
Let’s Build a Computer!
Can you build an excellent computer for less than what it would cost from a company such as Dell or HP?
The answer is “yes” but you have to do some research. You will also need the time to build it from scratch. Since building a computer from scratch requires some understanding of technology you will not want to purchase something unreliable since you will have to do a lot of troubleshooting yourself.

Today’s mission:

TED Talks- Brain Creation
As I was watching this video, I heard Henry Markram talk about some really interesting stuff. He talked about how using about 10,000 laptops, we could create a neo-cortical column of the brain and study where everything we perceived is located. I thought that was really cool and that technology has evolved so far that we can actually do this. I am really amazed at the fact that within ten years, we could map the whole brain and pinpoint the source of mental illness and other brain related diseases. This technology is allowing the universe to let the brain see itself and what we are doing so we can perceive more than before.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Smartphone
The new Xperia Arc Smartphone is more than a phone. It is also an 8.0 Megapixel camera with Sony Ericsson's Exmor R CMOS sensor. It also has a very high quality 4.2", 854x480 P display. Some other features of the camera are 720p HD video recording, smile detection, geo-tagging, red eye reduction, and 3D sweep panorama. In the entertainment department, there are also some really cool features. Things like FM Radio, Video Streaming, and 3d games are just some of the things that create a revolutionary new phone. For communications, you can use facebook with the built in app, google talk, and twitter. Also, there is a speakerphone and and Sony Ericsson Timescpae where you can have all communications with one person in one place. In music, you can listen to regular music, but if you don't know the name, no need to worry because built in is an app called TrackID which can listen to a song and provide feedback about the name of the song. Album artwork and bluetooth stero is also available. It has an touch screen QWERTY keyboard and auto rotate powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine.

Preassesment quiz evaluation
- It tested my computer knowledge somewhat fairly except that the definitions were somewhat inaccurate and general.
- There were some glitches with the test. It didn’t always provide accurate answers.
- The advantage is that they are green and take less time.
- They can be glitchy and slow.
- A hands-on assessment where you build or program something.
- They can be used in other classes.
- I would if it was nicer and not glitch because they are fun and not to boring.
